After Frank and Carol met while on vacation and spontaneously got married, they and their children (who appeared to have known and hated each other) have to learn to live together and love each other. It's not easy, but they are trying to do this step by step

I will forever love this show (until of course they attended college, and Lilly was introduced). But I remember my older sister never letting me watch this as the ending show of TGIF because I wasn't "old enough". Because unlike Full House, Step By Step said "butt" and "fart"... Words that were to disgusting for my little ears... o.O
