Aired: 1985 - 1986 Show Type: Animated Country of Origin: US
She-Ra and her rebel friends must destoy the evil Hordack!! - This was the ongoing plot of the show. She-Ra was He-Man's twin sister. In many ways the show was a copy of the He-Man series, except that most of it's lead characters were female. Think of Hercules the Legendary Journeys and Xena: The Warrior Princess.
Most adventures took place on She-Ra's home planet, Etheria. On rare occasions, He-Man would visit from his home planet, Eternia. She-Ra's arch enemy was the evil Hordack, a powerful gangster / despot who usually plotted to take over the planet. Just as He-Man had a relationship with She-Ra, Hordak also had a relationship of sorts with Skeletor.
He-Man would visit She-Ra by way of a dimensional portal or transporter-like system. I don't remember the specifics of whether Eternia and Etheria were part of the same universe or occupied parallel universes.
Addition:
Actually She-Ra wasn't He-Man's cousin. She was his sister, they were twins who were separated at birth. I just felt this correction should be added.
Addition:
I agree with that, She-Ra was He-Man's sister. Also, Hordak used to be one of Skeletor's goons. He escaped from Eternia in a portal to Etheria kidnapping princess Adora. There she joined the rebels and wondering around, she found the "cristal palace" (dunno the name) where she was gibben the sword.
Addition:
Actually, Skeletor was one of Hordak's goons on Eternia. The Evil Horde was trying to take over Eternia. They plotted to the twins, Adam and Adora, of the King and Queen, but only Hordak got away with baby Adora. He took her to Etheria, then the portal (which was located in Castle Greyskull) was closed. Hordak raised Adora as his, making her a captain of the Evil Horde, until He-Man went through the portal ,found his sister, and gave her the sword which transformed her into She-Ra. She then joined the Great Rebelion which was dedicated to eradicating the Evil Horde.
Addition:
The name of the gaurdian in the Crystal Castle was Light Hope.
She-Ra also had more powers than He-Man. Her sword could change from Sword to rope to shield to ladder to grapple and line. She also had the power to heal as she did with Swift Wind.
Addition:
The sword could also turn in to a helmit for space travel.
Addition:
But how could Hordak get Adora if he was sealed by his own spell when he was fighting King Grayskull. If you see the new series of He-man, they stated that Hordak was sealed by his own spell in another dimension when he tried to sent King Grayskull to it. So how could Hordak take Adora if he was still sealed? Did he use Skeletor to take Adora when he still had control of Skeletor's power
ADDITION:
Hordack was Skeletors MENTOR. Not just a regular Goon. Skeletor was left in eternia when Hordack left with Adora. And thats how Skeletor came to eternia and to Snake Mountain
addition:
its all in the he-man and she-ra movie secret of the sword.
