OK, this is important. For the longest time as a child and later adult, i thought i had IMAGINED this show. And i became even more confused when the saturday night live skit featuring mike meyers as Simon, the "i like to do draw-rings" kid in the bathtub used the melody of part of the theme song as the intro for his skit. I responded, on some deep level of memory recognition, to part of this melody, and then remembered that the protagonist's name had been Simon. Incidentally, although this is NOT the purpose of my comment, did anyone else ever wonder WHY Mike Meyers chose to steal the character's name, part of the theme song melody, and the idea of drawings.....and to transpose this into a bathtub, where he proceeded to enact some extremely lame skits about a British child of inattentive parents? I remember one featuring Danny Devito in particular that was interminable. Of course, knowing SNL's habit of turning marginally funny characters into feature-length films, I guess i should feel lucky that "Simon the bathtub Draw-er" was never made into an equally unfunny movie! But that's neither here nor there.

My query, however, is this: Was there a british policeman, or bobby, as a character on this show? A policeman with a prominent mustache who had a predilection for (and if i HAVE imagined this, it will sound bizarre; forgive me) EATING his nightstick? I have a distinct memory of a nightstick-chomping Bobby character somehow meshed with "Simon in the land of chalk drawings" in my head. Am I insane, did I make this up, or IS THERE SUCH A CHARACTER?

As trivial as this may seem, its has been troubling me for about 18 years, because i've never found anyone even aware of the show, (other than this page, happily) let alone familiar with the cast.

Please clue me in! My computer is currently too slow to watch clips from the show, so someone with a sharp memory, LET ME KNOW! PLEASE!
