Battlestar Galactica

For those of you noting the stark contrast in the moral tone between the original series and the recent remake, it's somewhat known that the writers of the original series were Mormon. Many LDS folk (including myself) were able to recognize the underlying theological aspect of the show.

so are you trying to make me dislike the original? LOL...

I also agree that the new one is a bit dark, slightly hard to hear (my hearing is fine) or follow, and the original had real comedy and "fun". But, at least the new one is good!

I enjoy the new one as well, particularlythe darker overtones. I loved the original as well, but LOATHED Galactica 1980. Incidentally in Australia, the pilot to the original (as well the pilot to Galactica 1980)were given Cinema runs!!! You could (and I did) check it out on the big screen...

What I really liked about the original compared to the new one is that you felt the humans were from an enytirely different part of the galaxy. Clothes, customs, etc ..all gave you that alien feel. On the new show, while the plots may be more complex, the costume styles and attitudes may them seem like they're from Brooklyn or Chicago or LA. Give me the alien feel of the original any day. Consequently I never watch the new series anymore......it's kinda boring.
