"Hot Country Nights" was a short-lived attempt by NBC to cash in on the growing popularity of country music.
Primarily a music-focused show, each show featured a wide range of country acts, ranging from newcomers to established stars and veterans, each performing their best-known hits. The first show featured Alabama, Clint Black, K.T. Oslin, Kenny Rogers and Pam Tillis. Comedians often performed between acts.
