Star Trek: Voyager

Show Summary

Aired: 1995 - 2001
Show Type: Live Action
Country of Origin: US

The Federation starship USS Voyager, chasing a band of Maquis rebels, enters the dangerous space nebula known as the Badlands. Both ships are transported by a distant space probe to the Delta Quadrant, 75,000 light-years from Federation space. Voyager's crew and the Maquis form an uneasy truce to rescue crewmen of both ships, kidnapped by the probe's builder, the powerful, dying Caretaker. The Maquis ship is destroyed in a battle with the warlike Kazons. To prevent a Kazon aggression against a helpless world, Voyager destroys the space probe. Without the probe, it will take 75 years for Voyager to travel back to Federation space. With the differences between them rendered meaningless by time and distance, The Federation and Maquis crews unite aboard Voyager. Together, they embark on their new mission: to boldly go - home. The Show is also being aired on SpikeTV.

This series paled in comparison to TNG and DS9.

Of course Voyager paled in comparison to two of the best sci-fi shows ever, but Voyager was an entertaining series in it's own right.

And, M4LKAL, the addition of Jeri Ryan actually helped the series since her character was relatively well written and Jeri Ryan put in consistently excellent performances in every episode. I liked Jennifer Lien too, but her Kes character bored me to tears and I was somewhat indifferent to her departure.

Plus the degrading of the Borg commenced long before Voyager in the later seasons of TNG (Hugh and Lore's Borg minions) and First Contact (the Borg Queen).

And while Season Two was excellent and Season One is better on hindisight, Season Four and Five was as good as Voyager ever got.

And I also felt Voyager was always a shallow (if moderately entertaining) show even before Seven of Nine was introduce (although the episodes with Brad Dourif were cool).

Season 1, GREAT!
Season 2, GREATER STILL! LOVED THE DOCTER/KES RELATIONSHIP
Season 3, LOVED THE KES HEAVY EPISODES! HOWEVER IT WAS THE END OF KES AND THE INTRODUCTION TO A NEW SERIES CALLED "STAR TREK 7 OF 9"
SEASON 4: CRAP!
SEASON 5: CRAP!
SEASON 6: CRAP!
SEASON 7: RECYCLED FOOTAGE AND CRAP!
