This series was first seen locally on WFAA TV Ch.8 in

Dallas,Tx. in 1975 and later went into national syndication in 1989.


Set against the backdrop of a combination music and candy

store.


"Mr.Peppermint"(played by actor/singer/musician and

radio/tv host Jerry Haynes)would engage his viewers in

craftmaking,hobbies,informational segments,stories,interviews

with guest performers and personalities and try to surpress the

antics of his puppet pals"Muffin Bear","Gee Gee The bizzare speaking

hippie","Sherbert The Dog","Jingles The Dragon"(Who can only communicate

via popping sounds that he makes with his mouth)and "Mr.Wiggly Worm".


(The puppets were created and manipulated by the show's director..

A news segment for kids was also featured on the program

first presented by a boy and girl and later on by"Muffin Bear".


"Peppermint Place" was based upon an early children's tv series

"Mr.Peppermint"with Mr.Haynes and Mr.Daily's puppets and it

was seen weekday mornings on WFAA TV Ch.8 in the Dallas,Tx.

viewing area from 1961 to 1970.


"Peppmerint Place"remained on the air..until the show's

leads retired in 1996.
