G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero

Show Summary

Aired: 1983 - 1986
Show Type: Animated
Country of Origin: US

G.I. Joe is the code name for America’s daring, highly trained special mission force. Its purpose: to defend human freedom against Cobra, a ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world! And from 1983 to 1987, it entertained children six days a week with realistic animation (for the day), superior scripts that have stood the test of time, and its positive moral messages. The cartoon is most memorable for its superb vocal talent. From Flint to Cobra Commander, each and every voice stood apart and still echoes in the ears of its truly avid fans. Yo Joe!

Known as Action Force outside United States.

GI-JOE for me was one of my favorite shows it was aired daiy where I lived so I watched it every afternoon along with Transformers. I still have all of my action figures about 110 of them I wish I still had the Vehicles. The oly time I remeber a Joe getting injured and almost dying was in GI-JOE the Movie. Duke took a Snake in the heart from Serpentor. The Comics however are another story Joes die often in those. When DIC took over the animation is when the series jumped the shark.

They'll fight for freedom, whenever there's trouble..G.I. Joe is there!! Yo Joe!! The 80's were the greatest. I quite possibly had every action figure from this remarkable show.
