Oh My Goddess is a fantasy/comedy/romance OVA series based on the popular manga by Kosuke Fujishima. While at his dorm alone, college student Keiichi Morisato tries to order some take out food but mistakenly calls the Goddess Relief Office. Suddenly a goddess named Belldandy shows up to grant Kosuke anything he wishes. However Kosuke thinks this is a joke and wishes Belldandy to be his girlfriend to live with him forever. Soon after that Kosuke and Belldandy find themselves on the street after breaking the rules of dorm (that there are no women allowed). However Belldandy (after a long search) find an old a banded temple which Belldandy restores using her magic abilities.
Kosuke and Belldandy are soon joined by Belldandys sisters Urd (wanting helpKeiichi and Belldandy's relationship) and Skuld (wanting Belldandy home in the heavens). The series follows the exploits and tribulations of Kosuke and Belldandys relationship.
The series lasted 5 episodes and the OVA is available through AnimEigo.
In 2000 a movie was released entitled Ah! My Goddess: The Movie (released in the US in 2001). Two more animated series were produced a super deformed 48 episode series called The Adventures of Mini-Goddess (running from 1998 to 1999) and a new series in 2005 entitled Ah! My Goddess.
