Created by Slim-Goodbody, and the International Reading Accociation, Read-Alee-Deed-Alee was a 15 minute show that ran on PBS, helping children learn to read. This magical dragon was sent by a wizard to a city where everyone loves to read. In his castle, a learns to read with his friends: a telephone, radio, coo-coo clock, who all talk and learn about the alphabet. Read-Alee-Deed-Alee also goes to the city to learn more about reading from Mr.Booker, a man who runs a newstand, and there, Read-Alee-Deed-Alee reads a talking newspaper named Extra, who is full of news about how to spell. He then visits a reading room, where a group of kids and a lady all read a few books, and then it's back to the castle for Read-Alee-Deed-Alee, going to bed and reviewing what he learned about, and then that raps up the show. I think I've seen an episode of Read-Alee-Deed-Alee when I was in elementary school--but only the tail-end of it, where he goes to bed.
