Johnny Quest is the son of Dr. Benton Quest. Johnny's mother died, he solely lives with his father and his body guard Roger (Race) Bannon. It was never mentioned how Johnny's mother died. They are accompanied by Hodgie an orphan of Indian decent they met while visiting India, which they adopted. Johnny has a dog named Bandit who has black fur around his eyes making it look like a mask. They all go on several dangerous jobs where people are doing illegal activities, which they discover thus, try to kill them. The main culprit is Dr. Zin a Chinese scientist who is set on dominating the world. This was a Saturday morning show during the 70s which is now aired frequently on Boomerang.
This was a great cartoon. I used to watch syndicated episodes every Saturday back about 1978-79. There was a New Johnny Quest show sometime in the 90s that couldn't compare to the original. Couldn't find the real episodes on cable, so I had to go out and buy the DVD set
