Mad Movies with The L.A. Connection

Show Summary

Aired: 1985 - 1986
Show Type: Live Action
Country of Origin: US

Kent Skov of the L.A. Connection hosted this half hour comedy show that could well have been considered the predecessor to "Mystery Science Theater 3000". The L.A. Connection raided Hollywood's B-movie archives and decided to have a little fun by dubbing over the original dialogue with their own comic genius, parodying everything from old film noir melodramas to propaganda films that were pretty much laughable in their original forms.

Yep, I didn't think anyone would comment on this one.

It was on LATE saturday nights right after Saturday Night Live, and my sister and I would never, ever miss it!

One specific thing I remember about Mad Movies it is that whenever anyone would kiss, they would dub it over and make really loud sucking and slurping sounds! It makes me double over in laughter just thinking about it!

It was such a simple idea, but it was executed by some really funny comedians. And it was different from MST3K in that the sound of the original movie was completely replaced by the actors. And there were both male AND females in the cast!
