The show went downhill when Rick Mercer left, then got a bit better when Sean Majumbder came, then just went completely down hill when Mary Walsh left.

I know, I thought it might hang on for a bit since Colin joined, but nope... sadly it went downhill. Rick Mercer is a canadian god
This show is still on TV and they still make new ones. It did not stop in 2000 lol. Ya the line up changes have been a lot in the last few years. Maybe it's not as good but they still mock everyone and everything and it's great!
