Shields & Yarnell

Show Summary

Aired: 1977 - 1978
Show Type: Live Action
Country of Origin: US

This wasn't a mime show. It was a variety show, with musical numbers and comedy...old-style physical comedy.

Robert Shields & Lorene Yarnell did guest-spots on "The Sonny & Cher Show" and "The Muppet Show", which earned them their own weekly variety series. Although itonly lasted a year, it was nominated for an Emmy.

Their "Clinkers" robot characters became instant classics, and inspired the "Robot" and "Moonwalk" dance moves.

Today, Robert Shields sells his artwork and sculptures (plus a DVD of Shields & Yarnell material) in his Ebay Store. Although divorced, he and Lorene still perform together, and are launching a nationwide tour of their live show, starting in December of 2006.

Wow!!! I remember the two of them....they were on alot of Disney Specials during the 70's and 80's. The both acted like robots. Sometimes Doug Henning the Magican was on there too.
