Animaniacs

Show Summary

Aired: 1993 - 1998
Show Type: Animated
Country of Origin: US

Originally developed for FOX Kids Club, the show was bought by Warner Bros when they launched the WB. Steven Spielberg Presents Animaniacs! was an homage to the greats at Termite Terrace that featured the same kind of zany, madcap hilarity the old Looney Tunes started. With new characters (and a lot of old gags) the show centered around the goings on at Warner Bros studios, where three siblings were locked away in the water tower because neither they, nor their films made any sense. There were attempts at spinoffs from the show, which never really took off. This was a true gem of children's programming in the nineties, an after-school show that even parents could enjoy, as it re-introduced the absurdity of life with an updated spin. Nominated for several Annie Awards, and winner of many others, including the Peabody and Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Animated Children's program, Animaniacs is one show that reminds us just how silly it all is, and how important it is to laugh at it.

To This_guy: I pity you, because you don't like this show; I and everyone else find it great because it's not as dull as TV nowadays.

Chillax, sonic64. As I said before, I liked SOME of the segments on the show ( I laughed for DAYS after watching the "Surprises of Life"/Lion King parody). Most of the time the Warner siblings can get annoying after awhile. I mean really. Trust me, there are others who are not big fans of this show, either - go ahead and browse through the other 200 + comments. I see that you think Tiny Toons is also a great show. I agree. Understand that this is an internet forum packed full of people's opinons. Everybody is not going to agree on the everything. If everybody did, then things would be as dull and boring as today's t.v., which I also agree with you on that, just not Animaniacs.

Did anyone hear any news about Volume 4. I'm getting really impatient of waiting for the last 24 episodes! I want to watch "Dot the Macadamia Nut" on dvd instead of trying on a slow computer!
