The show starts with Cheep a newly born bird that is unable to fly. Cheep is taken in by Orm the work who looks after Cheep in the long run and others to share his welcoming home. Cheep always dreams of flying, but in the mean time sings in the opening credits. We familiarise with some woodland friends, Snail, Mole and Mouse and also some intriguing enemies Crow, Cat and Rat, whom always think of some different ways to eat them for dinner. A guy called Tony Martin produced the show. The puppets are simple foam and fur constructions, and they're operated against cut-out woodland sets whose colour palette is predominantly pastel pinks and violets. The show was narrated by actor Richard Briers, in which he narrated the show with pleasant rhyming couplets.
