The Weird Al Show

Show Summary

Aired: 1997 - 1997
Show Type: Live Action
Country of Origin: US

Weird Al Yankovic, who's long been known for his musical parodies, accordian playing and wild hairdo, hit the small-screen on Saturday mornings in a show very reminiscent of Pee Wee's Playhouse.

In his "split-level cave, 20 miles below the surface of the Earth," Al entertained his friends, guests gallore, and Harvey the Wonder Hamster with movies, skits, music and more. Most often seen in Al's hideaway were his parents, his cousin Corky (Danielle Weeks), Madame Judy the psychic (Judy Tenuta), gal spy Val Brentwood (Paula Jai Parker), The Hooded Avenger (Brian Haley), Varna the Squirmese Cook (Ed Marques), and inquisitive Bobby (Gary LeRoi Gray).

The show aired for a single season from 1997 to 1998 -- at which point, CBS stopped producing Saturday morning programming for children. The series is now available on DVD from Shout! Factory.
