G-Gundam

Show Summary

Aired: 1994 - 1994
Show Type: Animated
Country of Origin: JAPAN

that was radically different from the original concept of Gundam wars. Rather than an all out Earth vs. Space series of battles, the conflict in G Gundam is reduced to a tournament that takes place every four years. The arena is the ravaged Earth, populated by those left behind when the colonies were launched to space. Each nation is represented by a Gundam Fighter and at the end of the fights, the country with the last mobile suit standing becomes the head nation in council for the next four years. So far, sixty years have passed and twelve tournaments have taken place. Mobile Fighter G Gundam picks up at the start of the thirteenth tournament in the year Future Century 60...

This year, things will be a little different.

A young man named Domon Kasshu has been chosen as the champion "King of Hearts" to represent Neo-Japan in the Shining Gundam, but he's less worried about bringing his country a victory and more concerned with locating a strange man in an old torn up photo he carries with him. Along the way, Domon comes into contact with many of the other Fighters, but not all of them will remain mere tournament opponents. Many will be forced to choose a side in the conflict ahead, as a deadly mobile fighter designated as "The Devil Gundam" lurks somewhere on Earth, converting both humans and machines to its cause for world-wide assimilation and destruction...
