Yes, kids, before "The Daily Show", there was this. It was the first and most lol hilarious "fake news" show ever (take my word for it)! One reason it's success: it's arrival couldn't have been more appropriate, right smack dab in the middle of the Reagan Era, when no one couldn't help but get in a jab or two at The Gipper's conditional habit of "tuning out" and referring to his First Lady as "Mommy". (Of course, it was funny *then*, before we all learned the real truth about why he was that way. But even by the time Alzheimer's was first recognized by the medical community, some already got a hint.) Another reason for it's success was that (at least all of) the humor wasn't forced or stilted because it drew from current events of the time, so the references (especially in the comedy sketches) were clear to understand, while the situations, either staged or from actual news footage, were parodied to mercilessly outrageous effect. I still see (and ocasionally hear, in voice-over roles) the former host, Stuart Pankin, on TV from time to time, as well as Danny Breen, another cast member. Michael Lawrence is also still around, sometimes seen with his twin bro Mitchell (who you might remember from "Beverly Hills 90210"). Sure would like to know what the rest of the old gang has been up to since the last show. Good Times, great show. :D

it's so great to see comedy before political correctness took over and killed it almost completely. this is laugh out loud the way it still should be...
