Aired: 1994 - 1996 Show Type: Live Action Country of Origin: UK
Bearing a close resemblance to the sort of children's TV fare seen on American cable television in the 1980s, the British series Terror Towers was set in a "haunted" castle. Two teams of youngsters competed in a progression of rounds bearing such names as "The Observational Quiz," "The Shrinking Room," "Boris' Tower" (where they matched wits with a talking spider puppet), "The Creepy Corridor," and "The Nightmare Room." Those who accumulated the biggest number of points -- represented by plastic "severed eyeballs" -- were permitted to square off in the final round, which took place in "The Stinky Sink." The losers were banished from the castle and promptly "eaten" by werewolves (actually guided off-camera by actors in lycanthropic disguise). The show was similar to The Crystal Maze.
