5 years have passed since Son Gokû and Uub left there friends and families to train in order to hone there skills to perfection. but Gokû soon finds himself hopeless against the mystical powers of the Dragon Balls and his oldest nemesis, Pilaf!
The Pilaf wishes on the Dark-Star Dragon Balls for Gokû to become a child again so he could destroy him. unfortunately the dark star dragon balls cause the planet that the wish was made on to explode if they are not gathered together in one year, and they scatter throughout the universe instead of just earth. So goku, pan, and trunks set off to find them and save earth. The adventure takes them all over the universe, and encounters many enemies, like baby who was the last Tsufuru-jin (truffle) which was a race who was exterminated by the saiyains when they took over there planet. After all the Dragon Balls have been collected by the heros they come back to earth and summon Shen Long to try to wish Gokû as an adult but it turns out that it is an evil dragon created by all the evil pent up by all the wishes being close together. This starts the "Evil Dragon Saga", and after destroying all of the evil dragons, Shen Long decides to go off because he knows that the Dragon Balls were being abused and he takes Gokû with him and that ends DBGT.
