I loved watching this as a kid, not so much for the storylines, but the song and fireworks (simple things and simple minds. lol.). We didn't have a colour TV back then, but my aunt did, so I enjoyed it more at her place.

My parents used to watch this show, but they wouldn't let us kids watch it. Now that I'm older and have seen reruns, I can understand why we were not allowed to watch. I couldn't watch the show as a kid, but I knew the theme song from hearing it from my bedroom.

This was my very first "grown-up" show at an age where I should have been watching Sesame Street and Romper Room. Love American Style was in syndication on our local station KTLA Channel 5 and would come on right after The Twilight Zone. The bright colors of the heart logo, the theme song, and the fireworks got me hooked and years later, it's still one of my favorites as I understood it further as realized it was more than just blackouts and fireworks.
