Swat Kats: The Radical Squadron

Show Summary

Aired: 1993 - 1995
Show Type: Animated
Country of Origin: US

In 1993 Hanna Barbara released a new action series with a comic book style and furry attributes, SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron. Based on characters created by Christian and Yvon Tremblay this series hit home with the viewers, creating a large fan base that many animated programs of that era had yet to see.

The show focussed on the characters of Chance Furlong and Jake Clawson, two ex-Enforcer pilots who were discharged due to controversial circumstances involving the destruction of Enforcer Headquarters and the ambitions of Commander Feral. Having been blamed for the incident, the two were disbanned and sent to work in a Salvage Yard to pay of the debt for the building, which would take them the rest of their lives.

Not wanting to be out of the law enforcement picture, the two decided to become vigilantes, and using their own ingenuity and resources of the salvage yard, they built their own super sonic jet: the Turbokat. Donning the names T-Bone and Razor they took to the skies as the SWAT Kats.
