Remember that guy from Karate Kid who told his pupil to "sweep the leg"? Well, he had his own tv show once, if only for a short while. Spanning 1 season of 12 episodes, "Hard Time on Planet Earth" was about an alien (Jesse - played by Martin Kove) who was sent to Earth as punishment (ie: hard time) for some crime he comitted on his home planet. He wasn't alone, they also sent him to Earth with his strange floating gold robot that would offer "advice" from time to time. Jesse wasn't too bright about earth culture, and thus this show had some humor. Think of a cross between the tv shows "Starman" and "Mork From Ork" and you get the idea.
