Thunderbirds

Show Summary

Aired: 1965 - 1966
Show Type: Live Action
Country of Origin: UK

"Thunderbirds" was created by Gerry Anderson, the man famous for his "Supermarionation" animation technique featuring marionettes, in 1965. The show revolved around Jeff Tracy, a millionaire ex-astronaut who owned his own private island with his five sons. But unbeknownst to the world, his five sons were pilots of superb rescue vehicles, and were part of the rescue team International Rescue. "Thunderbirds" went off the air in 1966, but 2 "Supermarionation" movies were made in the 1960s and a live-action version in 2004.

I remember this show when it aired briefly on the Fox Kids Club back in the day. Loved the vehicles, but thought the scripting and acting needed work. All in all not a bad show.

Man, those puppets were so retarded looking. especially "Brains". I think they called him that because his head was large enough to house at least 17 regular sized brains.
