I was old enough to remember seeing the original series. Even though I was too young to appreciate action animes back then (with the exception of "Speed Racer"), the images were impressively flashy. Now that there's a DVD release out, I can see it still holds up as one of the best produced first generation animes of it's time.
Now that I look at it, comparing the original series intro to that of the recent series, the new one really does improve on the series I remember seeing, and, I imagine, still stays faithful to the concept of the original. I'm impressed! I might just go get that DVD after all!
Oh, this is one of the first animes i did ever see.
I was around...6-8 the first time i did see it at a friends house. Dubb to swedhis, but still one great anime _)
