The Jackson 5ive

Show Summary

Aired: 1971 - 1973
Show Type: Animated
Country of Origin: US

The adventures of Motown's hit sibling group, The Jackson Five. The 5 got into wacky situations each week, usually instigated by young Michael. Each episode was highlighted by a musical video sequence in the trippy style of "The Yellow Submarine." The show was produced by Rankin/Bass, makers of "The Osmonds," "Silverhawks," "The Comic Strip," a ton of stop-motion "animagic" specials ("Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer," etc.), and many more classics.

NOTE: Due to their demanding schedules, The J5 were unable to provide their speaking voices for their animated counterpatrs.

Eh, Jiggy! Michael is still black!

Now where were we? Oh, I have never seen more than glimps of this show, but I'm a big Michael Jackson fan, so hey!

My three older brothers and me WORSHIPPED this show. We watched it faithfully EVERY Saturday morning. And we all picked characters. Since I was the youngest, I always picked "Michael"...although, in real life he was 2-3 years my senior. I could not get enough of the "mix" that the theme song consisted of. Boy, was those the good ole dayz!

Aw, dang, I wasn't born on time to see the show (1977), but I bet it was good.
