I've Got a Secret

Show Summary

Aired: 1952 - 1976
Show Type: Live Action
Country of Origin: US

Four panelists took turns questioning the person with the secret to determine exactly what the secret was. A nominal financial award was given to a contestant whose secret (flashed on the TV screen for the viewing audience) could not be guessed by the panel. Each show gave three regular contestants an opportunity to stump the panel, and also had one celebrity guest with his own secret to hide.

Don't forget, the opening theme for the 1972 syndicated "I've Got a Secret" was "This Could Be the Start of Something Big". It was written by Steve Allen, the guy wrote the theme song for his own show back in the 50's. It was also a success lead by Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gorme. The syndicated "I've Got a Secret" lasted just one season until it was cancelled in 1973. Johnny Olsen was the announcer for that show. He does announcing duties on "The Price Is Right", "What's My Line?" and of course "Match Game". In the late 60's, he was the also the announcer on an hour-long "Color Honeymooners" where the show was taped in Miami, Florida with Jackie Gleason as Ralph Cramden.

Oh by the way, this syndicated didn't last long after one season. It was originally based on the original show from the 50's hosted by Gary Moore.
