Show Summary

Aired: 1987 - 1993
Show Type: Live Action
Country of Origin: US

This fun show was a spin-off of the successful NBC comedy "The Cosby Show". This show featured Denise Huxtable and her adventures at Hillman College. She encountered other unforgettable characters like the rich and spoiled Whitley Gilbert, Resident advisor Jaleesa Vinson, girl crazy but intelligent Dwayne Wayne, his parter and cohort, Ron Johnson, and talkative Maggie Lawson. Denise was only there for the first season, but the show evolved on its own in the years that followed. In the second season, new characters were added: country girl Kimberly Reese, Free spirited Winifred "Freddie" Brooks, nosy and irascible cook and owner of the Pit (Hillman's hangout spot), Vernon Gaines, new resident advisor Lettie Bostic (only for the second season), military teacher Col. Taylor, and crazy coach Walter, played by Sinbad.
This show was popular in its own right and made historic black colleges an important part of our pop culture.

I loved and still love this show so much. Once Whitney became a little bit nice was when I began to like her. I loved the episodes when Jada Pinkett-Smith joined the cast and when Tupac appeared on a episode as a guest. A lot of actors and actress appeared on that show.

Jalica was so old. She became old enough to be all of their mama.
