Life and Times of Grizzly Adams

Show Summary

Aired: 1977 - 1978
Show Type: Live Action
Country of Origin: US

From what I remember this is the story about a man who is accused of killing is wife. He is innocent, but not in the eyes of the law. So what does Mr. Adams do?

He flees into the wilderness and lives there. He befriends a grizzy bear cub who grows up to be his mate. He names the bear Ben. He also befriends an indian called Nakoma. My favourite character was Mad Jake (played by Denver Pyle) and his stubborn donkey Number Seven.

The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams Theme Song went like this...

Deep inside the forest is a door into another land,
Here is our life and home,
We are staying, here forever in the beauty of this place all alone,

We keep on hoping maybe, there's a world where we won't have to run, and maybe, there's a time we'll call our own,
Living free in harmony and majesty,
Take me home,
Take me home.

Based off the 1974 smash hit "Grizzly Adams" the full length featured film.

What do you get when you take a great movie, and turn it into a series while listening to what consumers are after (IE the audiance)? A show that ran two great seasons! With a small come back in the eightys!

I watched this show when I was round 10 on NBC (im 24) when they reaired the entire season plus the new season. I would rush home slide across the floor infront of the tv where mom and dad and nieghbors had came over just to watch the two episodes. I think we all some how knew that it would be a very rare sight to see them again. (Concidering the cheapest copy of the entire seasons I can find online even is 100 plus bucks!)

Produced by Grizzly Adams Productions.

This was one of my favorites growing up in the 70's. It almost ran like a documentary with the narration. I will get this on DVD one day.
