Kim Cattrall was born in England in 1956, but moved to Canada with her family when she was 3 months old. She shuttled between Canada and England to begin her acting career before settling down in New York to study at the American Academy Of Dramatic Arts. She made her film debut in the 1975 thriller "Rosebud". It was a critical and financial disaster, but she kept moving on, ending up as a contract player at Universal Studios, one of the last actresses to be one. In the 80s, she starred in several cult classics including "Porky's", "Big Trouble In Little China" and "Mannequin".
Through most of the 90s, she continued working in a mix of major and independent movies before achieving success as cougar-on-the-prowl Samantha Jones in "Sex And The City". She's also been able to clean it up on occasion. For example, she did some public television work in the 00s, playing Caroline Kipling, the wife of Rudyard, in the 2007 TV-movie "My Boy Jack", and on a lighter note, appearing on "Sesame Street" in 2008 to do a Word Of The Day segment. Her word was "fabulous"...Could she have been given that word because of her work on "Sex And The City"?
