 Born Burgess George..Mr.Meredeth began his career as
a singer and actor in NYC theaters.
He later appeared in the play"Winterset" as "Mio"..a part
that he later recreated in the movie vesion(his first screen
appearance).
During the 1930's and 40's..Mr.Meredeth played numerious
character parts in many movies..his most notable film role.
Was that of"George"in the film adaptation of John Steinbeck's
"Of Mice & Men!"with Lon Chaney,Jr.,Charles Bickford,Noah Berry,Jr.
and Bob Steele for Hal Roach and Lewis Milestone in 1939.
He continued to work in the movies,on radio and then on
tv in one of the two roles..for which Mr.Meredeth is best
rememered.
"The Penquin"on ABC/20 Century Fox TV's"Batman Show" and
the first"Batman"movie with Adam West,Burt Ward,Alan Napier,
Madge Blake,Neil Hamilton,Stafford Repp and Yvone Craig.
His second memorable movie role..is that of "Rocky Balboa's"
manager and trainer "Mickey"in the first three"Rocky"movies with
Slyvester Stallone,Talia Shire,Burt Young,Carl Weathers and Tony
Burton.
Mr.Burgess Meredeth continued to act in the movies and found
the time to pen his memiors"So Far..So Good!"..until his death in
the 1990's.
