Mr.Fusco's career as a tv puppteer began on a local
children's tv show "Mr.Goober" on station WNHC in Ct.
in the early 1970's.
Where he created, voiced and manipulated a character
that would later evolve into "ALF".
After the Ct. series went off the air..he bided his
time..until he moved to California and he was hired by
NBC TV's brilliant network showman Brandon Tartikof
to create and manipulate a wise cracking alien puppet
for a new sitcom.
The result was"ALF".
"Alf"became the network's most popular sit com in
the late 1980's...the series was later spun off into
a saturday morning cartoon program for the kids.
Alas?
The show's success was brief and it would soon leave
the air after a few seasons.
After "Alf"went off the air..Fusco only used him for
some tv commercials and for a tv movie"Project Alf"on
ABC TV.
The characater didn't return to tv..until July 10,
2004.
When he hosted his own late night tv talk show
"Alf's Hit Talk Show"on Cable's"TV Land!".
The series featured some guest interviews, audience
participation, some patter with the announcer..Ed MacMahon
and some comedic vingettes with an up and coming comic/
character actor named Kevin Butler.
Mr.Butler performed his skits in a vein simular to L&H,
Lou Costello and Jacques Tati.
