Sir Alec Guinness was an acclaimed English actor of movie and stage,he was Knighted in 1959 and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He played many roles in famous movies such as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the original Star Wars trilogy and Colonel Nicholson in The Bridge on the River Kwai for which he won an academy award for Best Actor. He also appeared in the films Lawrence of Arabia,Doctor Zhivago and A Passage to India.
Sir Alec Guinness died on August 5, 2000, from liver cancer, at Midhurst in West Sussex.
