Movie Summary

Released: 1979
Mike is being watched over by his older brother Jody. Everywhere Jody goes, mike follows. Jody has little choice in the matter with their parents dead. Then there's Reggie, a musician on the side Ice Cream vendor.

When Mike follows Jody one too many times he discovers that their is something extremely wrong with the local undertaker and his mosoleum. At first it just seems like a kid telling tall tales. However soon both Jody and Reggie learn to believe young Mike when they are forced to deal with the Tall Man, his army of strange hooded dwarves, and that fantastically dangerous flying metal spheres.

In the end it's small town good versus otherworldly evil.

The boy in this movie was cuter than a Disney kid. The 1971 Baracuda muscle car was great. It left me wanting more, though, so I became disappointed when I found out that the director had around three extra hours of this movie that he trimmed and presumably lost. I would have liked to see everything that was shot for this movie.

Phantasm is a CLASSIC! The "Tall Man" is scarier than any of these slasher flick maniacs!
