Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Movie Summary

Released: 1977
Spielberg begun his friendly alien ideal with this movie from the late seventies. Roy Neary is a line worker who has a brief but memorable encounter with a UFO in his small town. He is left plagued by visions of an object he cannot decipher and suffers domestic problems as he behaves more and more kooky.

But he is not the only one affected and the impact of the visitors has been far more wide reaching than he could ever realise.

The part I remember the best about this movie is when he plays with his mashed taters building this mountain for ET to land on.

I want to see Steven Spielberg do another alien movie. One that is just as exciting as E.T. Nothing against War of the Worlds, but I want to see one that is just heartwarming as E.T. was.

Even as the years have gone by and dozens of great sci-fi movies have been made since this stands almost entirely on it's own becuase the characters are so strong and memorable and the special effects are sort of icing on the cake.That's what puts Spielberg in a different league.
