A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge

Movie Summary

Released: 1985
“A Nightmare on Elm Street 2” is perhaps the least known of the entire Freddy franchise. What made this movie so inferior is that it really doesn’t progress anywhere. If you’ve seen “A Nightmare on Elm Street 3”, you’d know what I’m talking about. Nonetheless, our story begins 5 years after…whatever in the world happened to Nancy & her father. A new family moves into Kruger’s humble abode, which is still armed with reinforced iron bars and a “blue” front door. Jesse (who, yes, is a guy) can’t shake these strange reoccurring nightmares of a grotesque shadowy figure that scares you with a grimy claw on his right hand. In the waking world, his life isn’t much better. He’s occasionally picked on at school and fights with his parents. His only solace is red-headed beauty named Lisa from down the street. Springwood’s poor little rich girl also experiences problems of her own…pretty typical for any teenager. Freddy, however, has concocted a new plan—to commandeer Jesse’s body and use it to continue his bloody business in the waking world. This would make Jesse the prime suspect to his murders. From the inciteful writings enclosed in a dusty old diary (conveniently) left behind by Nancy, Jesse and Lisa try to work together to stop his madman before nobody is safe. This sequel wouldn’t really be a “collector’s item” if it didn’t immediately follow the unforgettable installment starring Heather Langenkamp—whom you will see again. Hold on to this one though, it might be worth a lot of money someday. I mean, it did top the box office sales of its predecessor.

This is by far the worst edition to the series.

this one was better than the first forget the original it wasn't a typical 80's style horror film like this one with your average or typical type 80's things in it.

This was an interesting sequel.

Even less Freddy screen time then the 1st.

Very risky move. But it paid off.I liked it.

I really liked this movie, sure it wasn't as good as the superior original, but on the other hand,it is IMO,better than most of the future sequels. This one and Part 1,were the 2 best Nightmare films. Also A little trivia, Mark Patton(Jesse) tried out for the role of Glenn in part 1,but lost to Johnny Depp.It would have been interesting to see Johnny Depp as Jesse, this film might of been more popular and Johnny would of been A more convincing hero.
