Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday

Movie Summary

Released: 1993
It's 1993. The world has changed. But apparently The Blind Melons, Spin Doctors and the Wacko in Waco still haven't changed the world enough to make it forget about Jason Voorhees.

Jason is back...again...and he hasn't lost a step. He can still track a hotty like a dog on scent. But this time the hotty is an undercover agent who lures him into a special ambush which leaves Jason beside himself. But Jason is not gone. His soul has taken the form of a demonic lizard which rips it's way down peoples throats and posses their bodies. Jasons goal: to be reborn through the blood of a Voorhees. Chalk up necrophelia and incest to jasons list of evils as he uses his own sisters corpse to be reborn to his old self. This time Jasons dear sweet niece decides that Uncle bad bad has got to go.

This film along with Jason X are the films that you like to pretend never existed.

I thought this was the only film I ever thought that was actually good in the Friday the 13th series. I thought Jason Goes to Manhattan, VII, VI and V were just overkill of the same thing. Jason Goes to Hell provides a different view of the series, actually gives Jason a little more personality, and looks at his best in terms of being a zombie.

Jason X was a disaster and ruined what was left over for the reputation of the Friday the 13th series. You just couldn't take Jason X seriously, and for Jason X to be released before Freddy vs Jason, it only made things confusing. If they would have just waited long enough after the events of Jason Goes to Hell and then for Freddy vs Jason to be made, it'd make sense. Then release Jason X afterwards and do whatever from there.

The camping scene with the ill-fated Luke,Deborah, and Alexis was not part of the original script. When test audiences in early 1993 complained about the lack of sex and teenaged characters, the scene was subsequently written and filmed during a new shoot

Jason Goes to Hell not the final Friday but it sure was a better movie than Jason X. This is the first movie where New Line Cinema takes over the franchise. In the last one he went to New York and they wanted to bring him back to his old stomping grounds Camp Crystal Lake. But with a twist the FBI blew him to bits so he has to jump from body until he is reborn. I know it's really confusing but the ending has one of my favorite scenes.

For me, this is the worst of the series. The problem is Jason's not in it long. He's on screen for about six minutes.
