Released: 1983
A nerdy college professor named Clifford Skridlow (Dan Aykroyd) hits the town one evening. He meets a pimp named Smooth Walker (Howard Hesseman) and his coterie of ladies, Monica McNeil (Donna Dixon), Jasmine Wu (Lydia Lei), Thelma Cleland (Lynn Whitfield) and Karen Blittstein (Fran Drescher). When Walker skips town to avoid the villainous mob boss known only as Mom (Kate Murtagh), Skridlow ends up as the ladies' protector, assuming the guise of a colorful pimp named Doctor Detroit. Now Clifford has to protect the ladies, evade Mom and try to square his teaching job and his new position.
