The golden Johnny number 5.

I had enjoyed this one better than the first one. I liked the part when Johnny 5 was trying to help out Ben on his date by telling him what to say through the scrolling words on the building.

It always brought tears to my eyes when those punks try to destroy Johnny 5 by smashing him to pieces and he leaks the oil or "blood".

The ending was great. "Johnny 5, how do you feel?" "How do I feel? I feel ALIVE!!"

As a child I always enjoyed watching this movie, largely because it was filmed in my hometown of Toronto, Canada around 1987 (I believe that it was filmed in '87 because a view of Downtown is shown with the Scotiabank Plaza which looks like it is in the early stages of development as construction started on that particular building in 1987 and opened in 1989). The opening scene where Ben is selling the toy robots is at Yonge and Dundas outside the Eaton Centre. You can even see the TTC subway sign and a TTC streetcar. The view outside Sandy's office is the inside of the Eaton Centre. There actually is a World's Biggest Bookstore at Yonge north of Dundas. The scene where Ben and Johnny are chatting on the waterfront is by Spadina Quay at Queens Quay and Spadina. At the beginning of of the movie the scene with Oscar was shot at the Royal Bank Plaza at Bay and Wellington. The scene near the end with the climax was shot south of Stadium Rd and Queens Quay and the final scene where Johnny becomes a citizen was shot outside the Government of Ontario Lesislature. Hope that serves as some nifty movie trivia.
