Movie Summary

Released: 1997
Fighters compete in an ancient tournament that decides the fate of the Earth in an attempt to save it from mass destruction. Based on one of the most popular fighting games which was made famous for its use of digitized actors.

The movie saw characters from the popular arcade game fight it out, and also displaying some of their "special moves" (keep an eye out for Johnny Cage's shadow kick and Sub Zero's ice attacks). As a movie adaptation of a video game, it rocks...much better than the Street Fighter effort.

This movie was followed up by Mortal Kombat: Annihilation which follows on directly from the end of the first movie.

Mortal Kombat 3 is in filming progress and is rumored to be released by Fall 2009.

lmao @ Skeletor saying " GET OVER HERE" (the irony). Anyways...I absolutely loved this movie...my mom liked the movie...my dad looooved the movie (and he is very picky). I laughed, I cried (from laughter), I was pumped...AWESOME MOVIE. The second one..I cried..I cried from boredom and due to the fact that the movie was such a rushed rip-off.

Awesome movie every time i see it on tv i watch then go break out the old brick gameboy lol and play it.
