 Released: 1972
Baron Von Frankenstein creates The Monstress, a mate for his Frankenstein Monster, and gathers all of the other monsters for their nuptial celebration. But the Baron's henchman, Igor, becomes jealous and tries to get rid of The Monstress, only to have her fall into the hands of Modzilla.
This film originally aired on "The ABC Superstar Saturday Movie," and it's one of the few films from that showcase that got subsequent airplay after the initial airing. Produced by Rankin/Bass, this film bears an uncanny similarity to their previous stop-motion, 'animagic' feature, MAD MONSTER PARTY -- so many similarities, in fact, that it's looked upon as an animated prequel. The film has had a handful of releases on video but it's yet find its way to DVD.
