Movie Summary

Released: 1988

A returning US Army vet"Brian Flannagan"(Tom Cruise)is

trying to find a job as a corperate exec.

Because he has no experience..no major coperation

will hire him.

While relaxing at a local bar..he meets and is goaded

to become a bartender by an obearing and extroverted

fellow named"Cogland".

Taking up his offer..he becomes a successful bartender

and soon?

"Brian"and "Cogland"part company..so that the enterprising

young fellow moves to Jamaica.

Where he works as a bartnder for a hotel and he meets

and falls in love with a young woman.

But?

His ego tripping attitude and his infieldities nearly

destroys their love.

It takes the untimely death of his former parter

"Cogland" and the rejection from his girlfriend"Jordan"

that he realizes that he is ruining his life.

Great movie...makes you want to go get a drink at a tiki hut or bar. Tom Cruise was nice to look at too....Too bad he isn't normal anymore like he was during this movie.

This is one of my all time favorite movies. It stars one of my all time favorite actress's. The one the only Elisabeth Shue. Who stars in other such fav's as Adventures in Babysitting and her first role ever in a hard to find movie called Link. I found a vhs copy of it at a fleamarket. It's a very odd movie, but it does have a nice shower scene.
