The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension

Movie Summary

Buckaroo Banzai is a Neurosurgeon, Rock Star & Superhero to the world. When testing out his oscillation overthruster he re-starts the invasion of the evil Red Lectroids from Planet 10 (lead by Lord John Whorfin/Dr. Emilio Lizardo) who are set not only to rule the entire Earth but the galaxy as well. Buckaroo & his team of experts in Hong Kong Cavaliers (including Rawhide, Reno Nevada, Perfect Tommy, New Jersey & Professor Hikita) must defeat the evil Lectroids and save the universe.

Directed by W.D. Richter the film became one of the most popular science fiction cult classics mixing a style of pulp science fiction, action/adventure and comedy. It also stared the careers of Peter Weller (Robocop), John Lithgow (3rd Rock From the Sun), Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), and Clancy Brown (Earth 2, Superman: The Animated Series, Justice League, Gargoyles).

Ah, i remember THIS crazy, sci-fi movie. I wonder if the music is done by a band called "Tangerine Dream"... Their music is also from '80s TV show "Streethawk" & 1986 movie "The Park is Mine", starring Tommy Lee Jones...

I love this movie, and it really bugs me how overlooked it is. A classic film that should've been alot more successful than it was.

I always see this movie whenever I'm in a video store and I'm reluctant to go pick it up. Now that I see it's made this list, I'll probably check it out next time.

yo with all the remakes out there i think that they should followup this movie with its supposed sequel...buckaroo vs. The World Crime League,but please do not remake this classic.
