Good movie, one of Kevin Costner's greatest.

Gone is the romanticism of the Errol Flynn/Michael Curtiz film of 70 years ago in this film, according to a 2008 book called You Remember This: The Warner Bros. Story, and in its place, a much gritter view of an England wasted by corruption. It's also rather suprising that Sir Robin Hood of Locksley had an black sidekick, a Moor (played by The Electric Company veteran, Morgan Freeman), to be exact, with whom he escaped from the Muslims who are already fighting the Crusaders.

To this day, I still love this version of Robin Hood. Personal opinion, most movie adaptations of Robin Hood including the Disney version, I seem to love.

I really think that Kevin Costner as Robin Hood is great, even if he isn't a British actor. I really love Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio's role of Maid Marion. Alan Rickman as the Sheriff of Nottingham is incredible.
