I like to think of this movie as the second hour and a half of A Nightmare on Elm Street 3. Aside from some new actors and actresses, the sequel is outwardly similar to its predecessor: in story and cinematography. Although Freddy is dead and buried in the waking world, hes still very much alive in the dreams of the three remaining Elm street children: Kristen, Joey, and Kincaid. If youre familiar with the entire franchise, youd know that this is exactly what Freddy needs to be resurrected. Unfortunately for our anti-hero, he cant continue his work once hes acquired all the souls of his initial targets. This is where Alice Johnson comes in. She processes a very special birthright: to guard the bodies and souls of sleeping children while in their dreams. Freddy uses this to his advantage. With the powers of her currently deceased friends, she battles her arch-nemesis before he can invade the dreams of every child in Springwood.
