Based on a true story of a small-town Indiana team that made the state finals in 1954, this movie chronicles the attemps of a coach with a spotty past, and the town's basketball-loving drunk to lead their high school team to victory.

im sorry but this is not the best sports movie of all time...its actually pretty bad

You gotta be kidding me! I love this film. I guess I'm a little biased because I'm from Indiana and played basketball, but you can't go wrong with Gene Hackman.

I watched this movie in school. But i didnt really pay attention 'cause the love of my life/best friend. was sitting in front of me talking to me and holding my hand =] lol. But from what i saw it was a really good movie. not the best sports movie ever though. Coach Carter was my favorite.

My dad told me that this was the first movie I was taken too in a theater.
