Movie Summary

Released: 1994
This movie is based off of the popular Darkhorse Comic Book: The Mask. The Mask contains ancient powers that give the wearer the ablilities of a god, in this case the Norse night god Loki who used his powers for mischeif. The mask amplifies the personality of the person wearing it. Stanely Ipkiss who loves cartoons and works at a bank comes across the Mask after a really bad night. Stanley Ipkiss is a loser but has a good heart. When he puts on the Mask he becomes a living cartoon character. (Played by Jim Carrey)

This movie was awesome! This is what made me fall in love with Jim Carrey and I enjoyed it as much as I did the animated series (wish I could say the same for that lousy excuse of a sequel "Son of the Mask"!).

There was actually a special episode of Space Ghost: Coast to Coast on the original VHS entitled "The Mask" in which Space Ghost interviews Jim Carrey and the director of the movie himself.

My favorite part is when the mask does the balloon trick.
