Look at WalMart. One of its biggest selling points is Rollback Pricing. In order to be able to keep rolling back its pricing, it keeps cutting the amount it offers suppliers for the goods, AND it has to keep paying its own employees as little as possible, with no benefits. That's why it's under fire from so many advocates, unions and even government agencies. In Canada, WalMart has abruptly closed stores where employees have voted to form unions.
As long as people's main concern is getting something for the lowest price possible (or impossible), WalMart will continue to thrive, and more and more of the products on North American shelves will be made in foreign sweatshops and imported.

The irony here is that the song is set to the song "Look For the Silver Lining". The way things have gone, there isn't one.
