Back in these times I was but a young lad. But, thanks to a great memory and a lot of research, I've been able to track down the best SNES and Sega games of all time. Keep note that this is one big list, not separated into two consoles. So without further interruption...
10. Maximum Carnage - SNES
Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever spiders...ah forget it! That was so late 70's! You want in your face action now; only someone like the 90's Spider-Man can offer you this rush! In the early 90's, the people over at Software Creations came up with the idea to turn the biggest comic saga of the year into a beat 'em up game. Thank you, who ever you are! This crazy game puts you in the Maximum Carnage, a chaotic series that offered up some of Spidey's greatest villains. I'm not going to go into the story, but let's just say there's plenty of ass kicking to be done. You control Spider-Man, than at a certain point in the game you can choose between Spidey and Venom. This is a very hard game, but is very fun.
9. ToeJam and Earl - Sega
Hit it Earl! Bust out some funky moves on your Sega and kick back with this awesome gem. You play as two easy going aliens that get stranded on a planet. You must rebuild your ship by visiting the many levels of the planet and finding parts. This game had some of the best power ups ever, running shoes, inflatable ducks and many more! TJ and E had a recent update on the X-box and I am happy to say it was awesome
8. Vectorman 1&2 -Sega
Both these games were amazing. You're a robot trying to save the world from all kinds of alien menaces. Sounds simple doesn’t it? That's because it is. Who ever came up with this game play is brilliant. From the fantastic boss battles to the first glimpse of a 3D cut scene in VM2, these two games are definitely classics.
7. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4: Turtles in Time - SNES
Well, you knew it would come. TMNT was an arcade revolution. You and a friend could now kick ass in the comfort of your own home. You follow the turtles on a bodacious trip through time with lots of beat 'em up action. Everyone remembers the first stage with the bridge and Baxter Stockman as the boss. This also had more of the comic book feel to it as it was almost darker. So sit back and grab a slice in the name of this great game.
6. Comix Zone - Sega
Yet another beat 'em up. What makes this one so special? Simple, the story. You play as Sketch, a starving comic book artist. One night you are pulled into your comic book by the main villain you created. Bummer. Not only the story, but the graphics are somewhat breath taking at moments for Sega. The comic backgrounds and the villains seem to have a lot of effort put into them. Over all, great game.

5. Super Metroid - SNES
Wow, this game was astonishing for it's time. The graphics, the game play, the upgrades, the story. The list goes on and on. Samus is back and more kick-ass then ever. I mean come on, who didn't like the ice blaster up-grade or the dash thing? This game is just amazing and a spectacle to behold
4. Zelda: A Link to the Past - SNES
That theme song will play in my head for the rest of my life. Zelda was taken to the max for SNES with this game. It got a serious boost for graphics and story. Lets just face it, it's fun to play. Link is on yet another mission to save Hyrule and it's up to you to help him through. This game is not only fun, it's damn challenging at some points.
3. Super Mario World - SNES
I'm not going to write much on this one. We all know the legend of this game and how it took all the SNES had to offer and used it. The addition of Yoshi and the great map system is what made this game amazing.
2. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 - Sega
Ok, so it's not #1 on the list. This game still holds a special place in my heart as the best Sonic game ever made. Back in the good old days, Sonic was simple, a plain ordinary super fast hedgehog. None of this anime crap we get today. This game not only gave us Knuckles, but it had one of the first 3D rotating stages in 16 bit history. How can you top that?

1. Zombies Ate My Neighbors -SNES
Ok, I know no one expected this almighty game to be in the top 10, but honest to God I love it! This game was so entertaining, so addictive, so weird that it was just awesome. You play as either Zeke or Julie as you run around your neighborhood trying to save all those dopey dumb ass people who are still acting normal for some reason. This game was awesome because it's two player system was great and it's tongue and cheek humor won me over. Truly a king in it's time.
